Climate
United States Of America Weather. Climate: Weather varies widely across the continental USA, as well as in Alaska and Hawaii. In general terms, summers are hot and humid in the plains and southern states, while the southwest is very hot and quite dry.
Electricity
America’s power is 110-120 volt so you will need a USA adaptor.
Communications
America has direct dial access to and from the rest of the world. Most Accommodation has IDD available from your room. Internet and wifi is available in most places throughout America and most hotels and resorts have wifi access. Please check with your mobile carrier about International Roaming before using your phone overseas.
Travelling to America
At present it is required for those travelling on a Australian or New Zealand Passport to obtain a visa before entering the USA. Please ask your Travel Agent for further information or visit www.dfat.gov.au/visas/
Money
Currency used in America is US Dollars. There are plenty of ATM and currency exchange places in the main cities. All major credit cards are widely excepted through out the whole of Alaska.
Shopping
Shopping is endless and pretty much you are always able to find a bargin in the many department stores or factory outlets. Shops generally open at 10am and close about 9pm. Stores are open on the weekend again opening at 10am and closing around 6pm.
