Located in northeastern Hawaii, Hilo offers amazing natural beauty and all the amenities of a bustling city. At the geographical end of the Kohala volcanic coast, the region is blessed with dramatic waterfalls, lush rainforest and blooming gardens. It is also home to Hilo International Airport and a comfortable stopover for Hawaii Volcano National Park, 45 minutes south.

Hilo was a bustling agricultural and fisheries area in the early 1800’s and became a shopping centre for the sugar industry. The Hilo Centre was built in the shape of a crescent around the bay and became the centre of the district government. Today, Downtown Hilo is a charming city with museums, art galleries, shops and restaurants.
